A. What do you mean by "hosted"?

"Hosted" telephone services simply means telephony services that can be provided without needing to purchase or install any equipment on-site.

People normally associate the provision of complex telephone features like Interactive Voice Response (IVR), Automatic Call distribution (ACD) and Voice Recording and playback with having to buy, install and maintain complex and expensive equipment.

OPEX allows you to buy only the features you need, and pay for them on a pay-as-you go basis without having to buy any equipment.

A. What equipment do we need to buy up front to be able to use OPEX Services?

No equipment is required to be able to use OPEX Services.

A. Can you record telephone calls made to and from mobile phones?

Yes. OPEX is perfect for people who are mobile and need to be able to record telephone calls. Any call can be recorded, and calls can be searched for and played back using an easy-to-use web interface.

A. Are there any telephone calls you can not record?

No. OPEX is able to record any telephone call, although we would advise that certain types of number (e.g. premium rate numbers) should not be recorded. OPEX is able to prevent recording to certain types of number.

A. We want people who call us to be able to choose a number of things (press 1 for Sales, press 2 for Support etc). Can you provide this?

Yes. The ability to give the caller a number of choices from a menu is called IVR (Interactive Voice Response). OPEX can provide this facility on your incoming calls.

A. I want to be able to route specific calls to certain people or groups in the company. Can you do this without my having to buy any equipment?

Yes. The ability to route calls depending on a choice from the caller or other rules (like how many times the phone has rung or how long the caller has been on hold) are called ACD (Automatic Call Distribution). OPEX can provide ACD on incoming calls to any destination.

A. How do I access call recordings if I sign up to this service?

OPEX provides an easy-to-use interface to enable you to find and play back your call recordings using any PC connected to the web (as long as it has speakers attached).
When you apply for the OPEX call recording service, you will be provided with a unique username and password, which enables you to log and listen to your calls.
